ReStore Manager

Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic ReStore Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ReStore, which plays a critical role in generating revenue to support Habitat’s mission. The ReStore Manager will be responsible for managing staff, volunteers, and resources to ensure a high-quality customer experience, effective inventory management, and alignment with LAHFH’s values and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the ReStore, ensuring smooth and efficient store functions.
    • Encourage and coach staff and volunteers.
    • Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Resolve customer disputes.
    • Answer ReStore phone.
    • Greet and assist customers.
    • Monitor for safety concerns and enforce safety practices among staff and volunteers.
    • Work with ReStore Director to monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales goals.
    • Ensure the ReStore is clean, well-organized, and visually appealing to customers.
  • Receiving Room Management:
  • Make sure all donations are cleaned and priced before setting on the sales floor.
  • Assure adequate staff and volunteer coverage for drop-off donations and pick-up of sold items.
  • Ensure the ReStore is clean, well-organized and visually appealing.
  • Manage flow of donations from the receiving room to the sales floor for efficiency.
  • Staff & Volunteer Management:
    • Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers to assist in ReStore operations.
    • Inspire, coach and supervise staff and volunteers to increase productivity and sales.
    • Resolve disputes among staff and/or volunteers.
    • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to both staff and volunteers, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Manage product intake, pricing, merchandising, and inventory rotation.
    • Work with the ReStore Director to develop pricing strategies that maximize sales while remaining mission-driven.
    • Coordinate with the donation team to ensure timely processing of incoming donations and stock levels.
    • Ensure that donations are of high quality and that non-sellable items are disposed of appropriately.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
    • Develop and implement customer engagement strategies to increase repeat visits and build relationships with community partners.
  • Marketing & Community Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the ReStore Director to promote the ReStore through various channels (social media, email newsletters, etc.).
    • Assist in planning and executing special sales events, promotions, and community outreach programs.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Work with the ReStore Director to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of Habitat For Humanity mission and principles.
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a non-profit or resale environment.
  • A demonstrated ability in leading, training, managing and motivating staff and volunteers in a consistent manner.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to manage staff and volunteers effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in inventory management, merchandising, and sales analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • A passion for the mission of Habitat for Humanity and commitment to sustainability and community service.
  • High standards of personal and professional integrity and accountability.
  • Appreciation of a team-oriented approach to decision making, work and problem solving.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Some weekend work may be required based on store hours and events.

Salary Range:  $55,000-$75,000 depending on qualifications and experience
