Dancing with a Purpose

Jessica DeShaw and Paul Fischer are taking the Dancing with the Lakes Area Stars stage with hearts full of purpose! Jessica, COO at RG Insurance and a Brainerd resident, is joined by her dance partner Paul, who works in Commercial Sales at Auto Value Stores and hails from Austin, MN. Together, they bring not only their dance moves but also their blended family of five amazing kids—Jessica’s sons Dalton (21), Blake (19), and Brennen (15), and Paul’s children Katara (18) and Evan (21).

After years of being asked by Ruth Ann to participate, Jessica finally found the time to say yes—and she couldn’t be happier about it. For Paul, the decision was simple: “This is important to Jess and for her co-worker Liz, so I said yes.” That co-worker connection makes this event especially meaningful. Liz, the Habitat partner family being supported through this fundraiser, is an employee at RG Insurance, and Jessica considers her an amazing person.

With an ambitious fundraising goal of $50,000, Jessica and Paul are dancing to help Liz and her family achieve the dream of homeownership. Their excitement to see Liz move into her new home fuels every step, turn, and twirl. This is more than a performance—it’s a celebration of community, friendship, and the power of home!
